The only rival to his larger-than-life appearance was the oversize delivery of his soulful rhyme, Heavy D, along with a trio known as The “Boyz” racked up a string of hits during the early part of 1990s; what many called the golden age of hip-hop. In recent years, Heavy D, whose real name was Dwight Arrington Myers, was heavily involved in acting with memorable appearances on A Different World, Living Single, Boston Common, and even a cameo role on the just released film Tower Heist with Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy. But music, his first love, was never far behind & will never be forgotten. He was 44 years old.
